
Raul Gerardo Ibarra graduated in 1994 from Socorro High School in El Paso, TX., with a High School Diploma, with a Technical Drafting Emphasis. He graduated in May 2000 from the El Paso Community College in El Paso, TX, with an Associates in Drafting and Design Technology. He continue his education to achieve a profession as a civil Engineer at El Paso Community College and graduated in May 2004 with an Associates of Arts in the Field of Study engineering Civil Engineering,. Then he transfer to the University of Texas in El Paso and to the New Mexico State University at Las Cruces, NM., and graduated in December 2007 with a Bachelor Degree of Science in Land Surveying Engineering.
While he was going to school he was working under very well known important Engineers and Land Surveyors in the Engineering profession.
First He became a Drafting Technician at Calderon Engineering and worked for Manuel Calderon in El Paso, TX, from 1998 to 1999. There he learned all the basic for land surveying. He worked as a draftsman performing board drafting on boundary surveys until Land development R14 arrived. He also was introduced to the Electric Distance Meter (EDM) and Level.
Then he was Survey Technician at Cad Consulting Co. and worked for Carlos Jimenez in El Paso, TX from 1999 to 2000. Working there he master the COGO programs Land development R12 and R14, and learned to write metes and bound descriptions. He performed boundary surveys and ALTA/ACSM surveys.
Later, he worked for Paso Del Norte Surveying Inc. and worked under the supervision of Steve E. Cobb an NMSU graduate, in El Paso, Texas from 2000 to 2001. His Position there was a Junior Party Chief. He learned the field aspect of land Surveying and Civil Engineering construction staking and Boundary using TDS48GX with EDM and GPS survey equipment.
Then he worked for Conde Inc. under the supervision of Ron R. Conde in El Paso, TX from 2001 to 2004. His position there was Survey Technician I. There he learned more about boundary law and boundary surveys.
Worked at BRG and Associates, Inc. under the supervision of Kery W. Greiner in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Land Surveyor Intern (LSIT) and Senior Cad Land Surveying Technician and Project Manager and soon a Professional Land Surveyor. There he was introduced to the rectangular Public Land Survey System (PLSS) his duties are to create multiple topographical surveys, land survey plats and subdivision drawings, from fieldwork using Trimble 5800 GPS equipment, VRS, El Paso and Dona Ana County network, and calibrating boundaries horizontally from recorded deeds from the Clerk's office, and calibrating vertically from city Benchmarks or NGS website for first, second or third order Benchmarks; used state plane coordinates projections and made opus adjustment to ground coordinates using TGO; Created feature codes for all topographical fieldwork to control all line work for terrain break lines and to isolate the points and its symbol feature into it's layer category such as electrical, telephone, sewer or water. It's just like drawing in the field; write metes and bounds descriptions; also do plan profiles and earthwork intake for volumes; can create points in the office for construction staking in the field. He uses the following Surveying Programs to perform his tasks:
Wolf pack, Adjust, Matrix, Star Net, Corpscon6, Arc Explorer, Math cad, Stats, Star Geoids, Deed Text, NGS website Opus Processing, RGIS website for Quad Map Images, Land Development 2004-2008 and Trimble Geomantics Office.
